Consular legalization of documents
In the event that legalization of a document needs to be undertaken for application in a country that is not a signatory to the Hague Apostille Convention, an international standard procedure takes effect, which is known as consular legalization, i.e., a number of legal actions are carried out involving the notary officer, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the consulate of the destination country.
In accordance with legislation, the documents are legalized in the country in which they are issued.
The "Status Translation" agency provides individuals and legal entities services concerning the consular legalization of documents issued in the Russian Federation, as well as the former USSR before 1991.
Cost and time schedules of consular legalization
The cost of standard consular legalization of one document is 5,000 roubles excluding the cost of its translation and state duty arising from the Embassy of the country of destination.
The implementation term of consular legalization of a document amounts to 12 working days, excluding the period of the translation and time during which the document is being certified in the foreign Embassy (for example, 1 day - UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Yemen, amongst others, 2 days - Egypt, 3 days - Thailand, 3-5 days - PRC).
The cost of urgent consular legalization, which is carried out over a period of 7 days, is 8,500 roubles per document (without taking into account any consular fee)
